CGTN News: Ipsun Solar on Impact of Tariffs

Kevin McAleese of CGTN recently interviewed our CEO Herve Billiet about what we see as the impact of solar panel tariffs in our business installing solar around Metro DC. Herve discusses the early impact of the tariff news and the real consequences for us.

While Ipsun Solar is interested to see how more solar can be made in the United States in the future, we try to acknowledge that in reality, manufacturing solar creates limited jobs while contractors like Ipsun Solar who employ workers to install panels are responsible for the lion's share of solar industry job creation.

Homeowners and businesses going solar deserve affordable prices for their projects, and the more savings we can pass on from reducing or lifting tariffs, the more projects we would expect to be able to build. That being the case, we are happy to say that despite the tariffs we can offer solar installs at a great value that save customers money on utility bills and help move our communities to a sustainable energy future.
